First new A-series machines revealed at Bauma

We were proud to begin the launch of our new A-series models at Bauma 2019, held in Munich from 8-14 April. Bauma is the world’s leading trade fair for construction machinery and is a key business driver for the sector. Welcoming 620,000 visitors from over 200 countries and regions, it was the ideal for platform for us to unveil the first of our A-series excavators and wheel loaders – a machine range for the future construction industry.

Ready to change the world!

The A-series represents machines that comply with the European stage V emission levels and covers our complete product range of mini and medium sized excavators, heavy excavators and wheel loaders. Rather than simply fulfilling the European regulatory demands, we decided to drive product development to a level that far exceeds market requirements. These machines are designed to offer you maximum performance and productivity along with better safety, uptime management and convenience. We exhibited a first selection of this new breed of equipment at Bauma.

A-series HX crawler excavators

The A-series HX machines focus on key priorities like fuel efficiency, productivity, safety, convenience, improved uptime and detailed machine management. Exhibited at Bauma, the new 22-tonne HX220AL and 30-tonne HX300AL models pave the way for a two-year rollout of their smaller and larger siblings. The two models incorporate some of Hyundai’s new technologies, including EPFC (Electric Positive Flow Control) for improved fuel efficiency and controllability, Auto Safety Lock to prevent accidental ignition, MG/MC (Machine Guidance/Machine Control) for better work status monitoring and control, and EPIC (Electric Pump Independent Control) for significant energy savings. An all-in-one exhaust aftertreatment system reduces emissions and operating costs while enhancing reliability and simplifying maintenance. Fleet owners and aftersales technicians are also supported by new technologies that improve diagnostics and software updating and reporting.

A preview of the A-series wheel loaders

The 19-tonne HL960A is powered by a Cummins QSB6.7 Stage V engine and is designed for optimal fuel efficiency, safety, uptime and fleet management. Launched at Bauma, it is the forerunner of the A-series wheel loaders which offer a whole new range of features and functions to tackle the challenges of diverse customer segments. These include IWM (Intelligent Work Mode) for improved fuel efficiency, an electro-hydraulic joystick and the option of a second advanced steering lever for easy control, and remote door control for added convenience and safety. A highly advanced AAVM (Advanced Around View Monitoring) system extends the field of vision and obstacle detection to make A-series wheel loaders among the safest in the industry.

HX10A: a new one-tonne mini excavator

The new baby of our mini excavator family, the HX10A is our first entry into the micro excavator market. It completes the HX machine line up, which now ranges from one to 90 tonnes.

The perfect fit

With a slim design for easy transport and access through doorways, The HX10A is perfectly suited to confined spaces and urban areas. The mono-boom is mounted on a swing-post which allows the HX10A to dig close to a wall or across the entire width of the machine. Its low operating weight (just 1,000 kg) and excellent lifting and breakout forces make it a perfect fit for work in tight spaces, such as in gardening & landscaping applications, on construction sites in residential areas, indoors, or on demolition tasks.

Smart micro power

The HX10A comes with smart features to make it the ideal workmate. It is standard-equipped with hydraulic hammer piping. The two-column foldable ROPS (Roll Over Protection System) bar makes it easy to enter buildings through a standard door. The boom cylinder is top-mounted to prevent potential damage and machine servicing is quick and easy thanks to the convenient engine access. The variable undercarriage increases stability whenever needed and the equally extendable dozer blade allows for grading over the full track width.

Conclusion

The A-series is a new breed of construction equipment that far exceeds the requirements of Stage V emissions legislation to reach new heights of customer satisfaction. The models revealed at Bauma 2019 offer a preview of the technologies introduced to enhance power, productivity, safety, uptime and ease of maintenance on every jobsite. We look forward to sharing more details with you as we roll out more models over the coming months.
